The media's unnecessary negativity is finally coming to a halt—earnings season is providing positive results and showing that the recovery is, in fact, moving along. And helping to push the economy along is the newly approved financial regulation bill. The market seems to like the fact that the uncertainty with this bill is finally coming to an end.
So in today's Buried Treasures update, we take a look at the specifics behind this new law and a new sector that I'm keeping my eye on. We also had a few of our Buried Treasures report fantastic earnings, so we take a look at that, as well as what we can expect for the remainder of this earnings season.

Stocks just can't catch a break recently, as multiple global factors continue to plague the markets. China, financial reform, housing and employment numbers, and consumer confidence have all been taking a toll, but I expect most of these items to be short-lived. We've discussed many times that housing and employment will be the last two things to turnaround in this recovery, so we just need to be patient.
In the meantime, alternative energy is finding solid footing, and the disastrous BP oil spill is pushing even more attention in that direction. So in today's monthly update, I'd like for us to take part in this by adding one of North America's best ethanol producers as a new stock to our Buried Treasures portfolio. We also take a look at some of our current holdings and update one stock to a buy from a hold.
